The Greek winery La Tour Melas is located in the village of Achinos, in the Peloponnese. The company, which began operations in the 2000s, features a state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled cellar on four levels that utilizes gravity to minimize interventions and pump usage.

La Tour Melas Silphium Rose, named after a rare flower, is a blend of Grenache Noir, Fokiano, Monemvasia, and Aspro Potamisi grapes from the estate's vineyards located in Achinos, Fthiotida. After manual harvesting and vinification, the finished wine rests on the lees in amphorae and oak for 6 months.

The result is a wine with character and a Provençal style. In the glass, it reveals a salmon-colored color with golden-pink highlights. Its aromatic profile is expressive and lively, with notes of small red berries, pear, and mango, followed by subtle hints of lemon blossom and baking spices. On the palate, it is fresh and fruity, with a refreshing acidity. It has a creamy texture and a long, elegant, and delicate finish. It is versatile when paired with food, going well with fish and shellfish appetizers, prosciutto and melon, as well as raw seafood, strawberry risotto, and cured meats.
