This is a bright Italian white wine with a pale, translucent straw colour and greenish windows. Upon opening, it reveals delicate aromas of white flowers, green apple, tropical fruits and pure lemon, complemented by hints of fig and red fruits. This wine is made from 100% Cortese grapes, sourced from the Gavi DOCG region in Piedmont, and specifically from the steep hills of Rovereto Superiore.

La Scolca estate was taken over by the Soldati family in 1919, with the intention of planting the native Cortese grape in a region that was historically known for red grapes. Today, it is run by Giorgio and his daughter Chiara, the third and fourth generations of Soldati winemakers who have worked in the heart of Gavi.

On the palate, Il Valentino is lively and precise, with a rich feel in the mouth. It offers flavours of lemon, green apple, and mango, followed by dried Mediterranean herbs and a subtle mineral finish. This is a perfect choice for those who enjoy friendly, generous white wines. Its fresh acidity and well-balanced structure make it a perfect match for light cheeses, vegetable aperitifs, and creamy pasta sauce.
