Klet Brda is a Slovenian winery located in the western part of the country, near the Italian border, among the verdant hills of the Brda wine region. Here, the vines thrive in exceptional soil and climate conditions, with influences from the sea currents and a unique soil, locally known as Opoka, which lends structure and minerality to the wines. The De Baguer line is named after Count Silveri de Baguer, a diplomat, wine enthusiast, and collector, who was also the last owner of Dobrovo Castle.
The De Baguer Single Vineyard Merlot is made in limited quantities (less than 1,800 bottles), with grapes from the twenty-year-old Vrh vineyard, located in the village of Vipolze. After harvesting and vinification, the finished wine ages for two years in barrels in the historic cellar of the Renaissance Dobrovo Castle.
In the glass, the wine reveals an intense, deep ruby red color with purple highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and ripe, with fragrant notes of berries and blackberry, interspersed with spicy, balsamic notes, and hints of tobacco. On the palate, it is soft and full, smooth, and well-balanced. It has silky tannins and a refreshing acidity. The finish is long and warm. Try it with venison stew, tagliatelle with wild boar, or spicy beef brisket.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
