The oldest vines on the Kaesler estate were planted back in 1893 when the family first started farming their own vineyards here. Over the years the property has blossomed into one of the leading wineries in the Barossa Valley thanks to the hard work and dedication of the family. One of their key principles is the idea of regenerative agriculture which seeks to pass on the property to the next generation in even better condition than they found it.

Kaesler is best known for its punchy Shiraz like this cuvee which is made in a juicy, opulent style with plenty of luscious dark fruit flavours. It’s vinified in a modern, clean style with fermentation in stainless steel tanks followed by ageing in new and used French oak barrels to soften the tannins and add extra complexity.

Crushed cassis, blueberries, plums and subtle hints of licorice dominate on the nose, while the first sip reveals a smooth texture, robust tannins and a long finish peppered with spice and tobacco leaf. The easy-going nature of this Barossa Shiraz makes it ideal to serve alongside a family barbecue or with hearty dishes like ribs, sirloin steak, or simply a hearty winter stew.
