This Paso Robles winery is named after founder Justin Baldwin who was one of the first to start making premium wines here in the early 1980s. Justin recognised the exceptional potential of the local terroir with its fine limestone soils which produces very elegant and structured wines capable of ageing for decades. Justin’s project became globally-recognised in 1997 when Wine Spectator magazine selected his flagship Isosceles Cabernet Sauvignon as the sixth-best wine in the world.
This fine Cabernet is the little brother to the Isosceles and showcases both Justin’s winemaking skill and the quality of the Paso Robles terroir. All the grapes are hand-picked and sorted before vinification, with the young wine spending over a year ageing in oak barrels before it is deemed ready for bottling.
The result is a robust, well-structured Cabernet that’s bursting with crushed wild berries, dark cherries, sweet tobacco and toasty oak from the barrels. On the palate there’s a full body, firm yet smooth tannins, and ample luscious dark fruit which linger on the tongue. The powerful yet balanced flavour profile make this a great partner for a classic steak sandwich with fries, barbecued ribs, or even an al fresco picnic of charcuterie, cheeses, and a fresh baguette.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
