Maison Jaffelin is a French winery founded in 1816 and headquartered in Beaune, Burgundy, in the ancient 12th-century cellars of Chapitre Notre Dame, located in the historic city center. Renowned for producing high-quality, terroir-focused wines, the company is now part of the Boisset Group and has been led by Marinette Garnier since 2011.
The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from various vineyards within the Bourgogne appellation. Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc de Blancs is a stylish sparkling wine produced using the traditional method (the same as Champagne) and aged for at least 15 months on the lees.
In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant straw yellow color with golden highlights, enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. Its aromatic profile is expressive and fresh, with floral and citrus notes, aromas of green apple and pear, and hints of brioche and butter. On the palate, it is lively, smooth, and fresh, with a creamy, effervescent texture and a good concentration of fruit. The finish is long and delicate. This is a youthful wine that can make an excellent aperitif on its own, but also pairs deliciously with seafood, scallops, or shrimp tempura.
