Nestled in the hills of Australia's Barossa Valley, Hentley Farm is a boutique winery founded in 1997. The family-run company produces a wide range of wines from both local varietals, such as Shiraz, Grenache, and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as other international varieties, including Zinfandel and Viognier, with a focus on single-estate wines.
Clos Otto Shiraz is Hentley Farm's most iconic and representative wine. The grapes, from ancient Shiraz clones, are sourced from the G block, which is planted on shallow, red clay soil. The vineyards, with very low yields, enjoy eastern exposure, which ensures slow and uniform ripening. After manual harvesting and fermentation, the wine ages in French oak barrels (55% new) for 22 months.
The result is an elegant wine capable of aging for a couple of decades. In the glass, it reveals a deep, dark red color with purple highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and rich, with notes of plum and blackberry, spicy and smoky touches, hints of licorice, and a mineral undertone. On the palate, it is powerful and full-bodied, dense and balanced. It is complex and concentrated, with a fresh acidity, soft tannins, and a long, persistent finish. Have it with pulled pork.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
