Located in the Calistoga subregion of Napa Valley, Girard winery has been producing wines of great prestige and richness consistently awarded for 40 years. The company procures the grapes locally and has always worked closely with growers of some of the region's most renowned sub-denominations, in the mountain and valley vineyards to ensure that the vines are nourished adequately and produce quality fruit. In their state-of-the-art cellar, the company employs innovative technologies to enhance the characteristics of the fruit during the fermentation and aging process.

Girard's Chardonnay Russian River displays great depth of flavor, and fantastic aromatic complexity. The grapes come from vineyards in the Russian River Valley, where the cool climate and low vigor soil guarantee a fine balance between richness and delicacy in the grapes. The wine is then aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels and bottled without filtration.

This Chardonnay shows an olfactory profile of juicy ripe fruit, such as pineapple, melon, and pear, followed by subtle notes of vanilla that are very well integrated. It is a dry and fresh wine but well balanced by a good roundness and a pleasant finish with slightly oaky notes. It's delicious with scallops or chicken Alfredo, but it's a must with pork.
