This sumptuous Napa Cabernet opens with seductive notes of coffee, leather, and crushed wild blackberries. The first sip reveals a generous full body, firm tannins, and rich dark cherry, plum, dark chocolate and baking spice flavours which linger long on the tongue. The intense flavour profile makes this an ideal partner for hearty red meat dishes like beef bourguignon or a fine steak as well as barbecued meats.
The fruit of a father and son’s dream to make authentic Napa wines, Girard was founded in 1975 and has quickly established itself as a benchmark for reasonably-priced, good quality wine in the valley. Over the decades the winery has forged excellent relationships with its partner growers which allows them to source top quality fruit every vintage from Napa’s finest appellations.
This Cabernet is the fruit of Girard’s close partnerships with their growers and is crafted with grapes from prime plots in St Helena, Rutherford, Atlas Peak, Yountville and Diamond Mountain. The winery adds a small amount of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc to the Cabernet to add extra complexity, a softness of texture and savoury undertones to the finished wine.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
