A beautiful salmon pink in the glass, this Rosé from Chateau Roubine is loaded with delicate scents of peach, pear, raspberry, and citrus, with a solid backbone of minerality. It comes from Provence, the home of Rosé, on France’s sun-soaked southern coast, and is crafted from the prevailing local varieties: 60% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 10% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah.
Chateau Roubine is one of the wineries under the great Edmond de Rothschild umbrella, forged out of a friendship between St. Tropez native Valerie Rousselle and Ariana de Rothschild. It has been a Provence stalwart since the 15th century and remains the benchmark of excellence in this famous Rosé region.
Amista envelopes the mouth in sharp notes of grapefruit, round hints of white orchard peach, and sapid, bitter hints of lemon zest. There are also floral undercurrents, which come to the fore on the finish, alongside a steely minerality. All of the fruits came from cru-class vineyards, growing on the Chateau Roubine estate. It is a sophisticated and highly drinkable wine, with vivacious acidity. Consider pairing it with light, summery foods, such as white fish, a crisp salad, or soft cheese.
