From the greater Russian River Valley appellation, the Wester Reach line draws fruit from the vineyards that encompass the cooler, more westerly climates of the high coastal ridges in the region. With steadfast focus on site specification and expression, Wester Reach is the perfect project manifest of Andy Smith — Dumol’s 20 year veteran winemaker and viticulturist.

The wine sees hand harvested fruit from five vineyards. Flax Estate, with its volcanic soils, imparts volume, structure and density. The deeper clays of Hanna Vineyard bring broad fruit extract and textural richness. Upp Road Vineyard contributes red and black fruit aromas and Widdoes Vineyard, black cherry intensity and old vine complexity. DuMOL Estate offers dark fruit tones, spice and vibrancy.

The selection and blending from these sites pays tribute to their individuality in a balanced, holistic wine. Expect a full array of red and black fruit with savory undertones of dried thyme, orange zest, sandalwood and black tea. It’s crunchy and bright, supple at the same time.
