Founded by Paris Sigalas, Christos Markozane and Yiannis Toundas in ‘91, Domaine Sigalas is located not far from the beautiful town of Oia, in the northern part of Santorini, Greece. The company, which owns about 19 hectares of vineyards, produces high quality wines from local grapes, trying to express the unique terroir of the island to the fullest.
The wine is a blend of Assyrtiko and Athiri grapes from selected plots on the picturesque island, from vines over 60 years old for Assyrtiko and about 30 for Athiri, planted on the typical volcanic soils of Santorini. After vinification in steel at a controlled temperature, the wine rests in steel tanks for about 3 months, before bottling.
In the glass, the wine reveals a clear and bright color with pale lemon-yellow tones. Its aromatic profile is fresh and lively with delicious notes of tropical fruits and citrus supported by fragrant floral scents. On the palate, it is dry and crisp, juicy and fruity with a strong refreshing acidity and a long finish with hints of wildflowers. It is excellent as an aperitif but also works well with salads and seafood.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
