Domaine Latour-Giraud Meursault Premier Cru Les Charmes 2022

Domaine Latour-Giraud was founded in 1958 by the union of the Latour and Giraud family estates. With the arrival of winemaker Jean-Pierre Latour in the 1990s, their philosophy underwent a real revolution with a much more quality-focused approach. Today, the company owns around 10 hectares of vineyards spread across several parcels including village and premier crus appellations. Production is mainly concentrated on white wines.

The Chardonnay grapes are selected and hand-picked from the Premier Cru Les Charmes vineyard in Meursault, the largest white wine appellation in the Cote d'Or. The vines, which have an average age of 35, benefit from marl and limestone soils and one of the best climates in the appellation. After fermentation in oak barrels, the finished wine rests for 8 - 10 months in medium-toasted oak barrels (50% new).

The wine reveals a brilliant color with pale gold tones. Its aromatic profile is intense and ripe with notes of exotic fruit and peaches, Golden Delicious apples, and candied citrus. On the palate, it is rich and fresh with a good concentration of tropical fruit and a pleasant vein of acidity. The finish is long and recalls mineral notes. It is excellent with poultry and fish but is absolutely a must-try with veal ossobuco.
