Domaine De Montille is a historic Burgundy winery, officially founded in 1750, although its name dates back to 1863, following the marriage of Marie Eléonore Chauvelot de Chevannes to Étienne Joseph Marie Léonce Bizouard de Montille. After a somewhat turbulent history, the estate today owns approximately 20 hectares of vineyards, 75% of which are Premiers Grands Crus.

The Chardonnay grapes come from two extraordinary parcels, Les Casse-Têtes and Les Petits Charrons, cultivated according to organic and biodynamic standards and located in the heart of the Meursault hill, in a privileged position. The name of the cuvée refers to the hill known as Montagne Saint-Christophe. After harvest, fermentation takes place in 228 and 600 liters, 5-20% new. The wine then ages in barrels for a year and is then further aged in stainless steel. The result is a balanced wine with a generous character that retains its freshness and minerality.

On the nose, the wine reveals a complex and fragrant aromatic profile with notes of ripe lemon and fresh apple, followed by almond and toasted bread aromas on a chalky, mineral background. On the palate, it is rounded, soft, and invigorating, with a distinct, well-integrated minerality and a balanced, refreshing acidity. The finish is long and persistent. It's a characterful and highly expressive wine; try it with scallop risotto or mushroom and Brie crostini.
