Located in the small village of Fleys, Domaine Charly Nicolle is a family-run winery with approximately 26 hectares of vineyards in the Chablis wine region.
Chablis Per Aspera is made with Chardonnay grapes selected from the estate's historic vineyards on the right bank of the Serein River in the villages of Chablis, Fleys, Béru, and Chichée. The vines, averaging 35 years old, are rooted in the typical region's clay-limestone soils, with a Kimmeridgian base. After harvesting and spontaneous fermentation at a controlled temperature, the wine remains on the lees in a mix of stainless steel and oak for approximately one year before bottling. Its name is inspired by the Latin motto "per aspera ad astra," which translates as "through the roughness to the stars," and is intended as a tribute to the power of nature and the work of man.
In the glass, the wine reveals a beautiful, intense straw yellow color with golden highlights and a broad, elegant aromatic profile with notes of white fruit and wild flowers on a mineral, iodine-rich background. On the palate, it is complex, juicy, harmonious, and rounded, with a smooth texture and a refreshing, well-balanced acidity. The finish is long with a distinctive minerality. It is the perfect wine to pair with oysters and sushi.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
