Located in Burgundy, in the heart of the Chablis wine region, the Domaine Besson has been a family estate for four generations. Founded in 1902, the company is now managed by Alain Besson and his two sons and covers over 21 hectares of vineyards from which wines of seven denominations are produced. The company philosophy favors minimal interventions in the vineyard and a sustainable and eco-friendly approach.
The Chardonnay grapes come from a vineyard of approximately 5 hectares planted on clayey soils rich in limestone. The harvest is manual, and after gentle pressing of the grapes, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. A small percentage of the grapes are fermented in barrels. The finished wine is then left to mature for 18 months, partly in steel and partly in chestnut barrels.
Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a pale yellow color with some slightly golden reflections and a broad and fragrant aromatic profile. The nose reveals notes of white flowers, citrus peel, and wet stone. On the palate, it is quite full and linear with a lively acidity and a strong, citrus character. The finish is refreshing and recalls mineral notes. It’s the ideal companion for shellfish.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
