Nestled in the heart of Alsace, in the village of Wettolsheim, Domaine Charles Sparr is a family estate with a long winemaking tradition. Charles comes from a family of wine merchants who have been well-known in the region for nearly 400 years. In 2013, the family vineyards were joined by those of his wife Amélie Buecher. Today, the estate extends over nearly 20 hectares of organic and biodynamically cultivated vineyards.
This elegant Cermant d'Alsace vintage is produced with Pinot Blanc grapes selected from various parcels with vines, of an average age of 30 years, planted on predominantly calcareous soils located in Turckheim, Ingersheim, and Sigolsheim. After the harvest and an initial fermentation in the tank with indigenous yeasts, the wine referments in the bottle and then rests on the lees for 24 months before disgorging and being released for sale, without dosage.
In the glass, the wine shows a straw yellow color enhanced by an elegant perlage. On the nose, it reveals a rich and expressive aromatic profile with notes of quince and pear, toasted bread, and lemon cream, on a mineral background. On the palate, it is round, generous, and lively with a velvety and full-bodied character and a well-balanced acidic vein. The finish is long and warm and recalls notes of brioche. Try it with sushi.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
