Located in Chavignol, in the heart of the Sancerre wine region, Domaine Delaporte is a family-run winery, handed down from generation to generation since the 17th century. Today the Domaine is managed by Mathieu who, since 2010 has undertaken a process of agricultural and technological renewal. The estate covers almost 33 hectares of vineyards, distributed over 50 parcels and planted for three quarters with Sauvignon Blanc, and the remainder with Pinot Noir.

The Pinot Noir grapes for this wine are selected and harvested manually from vines of about 40 years of age, located on clayey-limestone soils which favor the production of wines with good aging potential. After vinification, the wine is aged for 10 months in the barrel.

Sancerre Silex red is an elegant wine with a ruby red color and purple tones. On the nose, its olfactory profile is intense and characterized by aromas of red fruits and toasted notes. On the palate, the wine is round and smooth with silky, well-integrated tannins and a mineral touch that adds breadth and depth. The finish is long and recalls notes of caramel. Perfect with pork tenderloin, game birds and cured ham.
