Sparkling yellow-gold in the glass with aromas of white fruit, almond, and citrus. Very dry and surprisingly smooth. The harmonious and persistent layers mimicking the aromatics and mingling with chamomile, vanilla, and apricot. A clean vein of minerality, punctuated by sulfur cuts through to the finish carrying nuances of corn husk, almond blossoms, sage, and rosemary.
Perfect to drink al fresco in the afternoon whilst planning dinner, chilled at 14°C. If you choose to partake in this delightful Vigneto Runcata with food, agreeable pairings include risottos, salmon, scallops, crab, roasted zucchini stuffed with goat’s cheese, mussels with white wine sauce, garlic and parsley, and grilled vegetables.
The vineyards at the Corte Giacobbe estate are on a southwest-facing plateau 450 meters above sea level, nestled between two inactive volcanoes: Calvarina and Crocetta.
The fruit used to make this white wine are harvested by hand in October in two separate passes in order to catch the grapes at their peak ripeness.
The Garganega varietal is one of Italy’s most widely planted grapes. However, it remains fairly unknown due to only the region and style of Soave being printed on the label. It’s history can be traced back to the vineyards of ancient Sicily, thanks to modern day DNA testing, which confirmed that the Garganega is the same grape as the Grecanico Dorato.
