Located in the province of Chieti, nestled in the hills surrounding the small village of Frisa, Collefrisio is a young Abruzzo winery founded by Amedeo De Luca and Antonio Patricelli. Both hailing from winemaking families, the two decided to join forces in 2004 to establish this modern winery that makes top-quality wines with excellent value from indigenous varieties.
Collefrisio Ten Vintages is a limited-edition red wine from Abruzzo produced with Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes from the estate's vineyards, selected from the finest barriques. Vinification follows the traditional method with long maceration, and the finished wine then ages in wood for two years and briefly in stainless steel after blending.
In the glass, the wine reveals an intense, deep garnet red color. Its aromatic profile is broad and ripe, with fragrant notes of blackberry and pomegranate, berries and cherries, followed by spicy hints on a forest floor background. On the palate, it is soft and smooth, rounded and full, generous and concentrated. It has velvety tannins and a long, fruity finish. It is a well-structured red that pairs well with sliced beef and game stews.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
