Located in Les Manyetes, south of Gratallops in Catalonia, Clos Erasmus is a winery renowned for its excellent Priorat red wines. Laurel Blanc is their first white wine.

Clos Erasmus Laurel Blanc is a blend dominated by Garnacha Blanca, with Chenin Blanc, Viognier, and a small addition of Moscatel sourced from estate vineyards situated at an altitude of approximately 225–240 meters. The organically and biodynamically farmed vines take root in soils of friable slate, locally known as ‘licorella’. Following hand-harvesting and a cold maceration of about 24 hours, fermentation takes place in oak barrels and terracotta amphorae using indigenous yeasts; the finished wine then rests in these vessels for six months. The use of a combination of terracotta and wood fosters the production of complex, well-structured wines without masking their fruit-forward character.

On the nose, the wine reveals a broad, fragrant aromatic profile with initial notes of lemon zest, ginger, stone fruit, and pear, followed by hints of Mediterranean herbs and mineral touches. It has good structure on the palate; it is creamy and smooth, generous yet taut. It features a distinctive streak of acidity and a pleasant mineral backbone that extends into the persistent finish, accompanied by subtle toasted nuances. It is a wine with a Mediterranean character that pairs well with oily fish and white meats.
