The quirky Chronic Cellars brand was founded by brothers Josh and Jake Beckett in 2004. The duo decided it was about time to put their love of winemaking to good use converting “chronic’ or top quality grapes into exceptional wines. The brothers were born into a winemaking family in Paso Robles, so they spent their early years helping out washing barrels down and working on the bottling line.
This early training prepared them well for this ambitious young project which focuses on using the best of everything wherever possible. The brothers’ long-standing local connections gives them access to the best Paso Robles fruit which is carefully selected by Josh for his delicious blends. The finishing touch is their characterful labels which were designed by a childhood friend and talented artist.
The brothers’ Sir Real Cabernet is sure to please lovers of big reds with a generous full body, smooth tannins and a well-built structure. Luscious cassis, blackberry and dark cherry notes define the nose while the palate has lots of bramble, plum and winter spice. The hearty flavour profile makes this a great partner for rib eye steak, beef stews or rich vegetarian dishes like aubergine parmigiana.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
