Set in the south-eastern corner of Moldova just 30km from the Black Sea, Chateau Purcari has long been associated with top quality wines made from both local and international grape varieties. In the 19th century French settlers to the region noticed the climatic similarities between this part of the world and their native Bordeaux, and partnered with the local monastery to start planting French varieties here.
In 1827 Purcari was officially established as Bessarabia’s first winery by the Russian Tsar Nicholas I and its wines began to attract global attention by winning gold medals at the Paris World Exhibition in 1878. Today the winery is recognised as one of the region’s finest for its hearty Bordeaux-style reds and elegant whites like this graceful Traminer which was awarded 97 points and a platinum medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2020.
Grapes for this light and refreshing white are sourced from estate vineyards close to the Black Sea which are harvested by hand. Once in the winery the grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks to preserve the delicate aromatics and mouthwatering acidity. Hints of jasmine, late bloom roses, peach and lemon define the nose while the first sip offers plenty of freshness and a pure, clean finish. Serve as a refreshing aperitif or an accompaniment for cheeses, summery salads or grilled fish and Mediterranean vegetables.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
