Wine has been made in Moldova for thousands of years, but it is only in the last couple of centuries that this small country has drawn international attention for its excellent wines. In 1827 Tsar Nicholas I issued a special decree recognising Chateau Purcari as the first official winery in Bessarabia which is today known as Moldova.
This iconic estate is located close to the Black Sea in the south-eastern corner of Moldova. French settlers in the region quickly noticed the similarities between the local terroir and their native Bordeaux since the area sits at the same latitude as the famous French wine region and also boasts the same rubidium-rich soil types. This makes it particularly well-suited to Bordeaux varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon which thrive here.
This stunning Cabernet is crafted exclusively from estate-grown fruit which is carefully harvested by hand and vinified using traditional winemaking methods. The young wine is then matured in French oak barrels for 6 months to soften the tannins and add complexity. Full bodied and richly flavored, this dark and handsome Cabernet is bursting with cassis, blackberry and dark cherry notes along with hints of spice, leather and woodsmoke from the oak ageing.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
