Chateau de Corcelles is one of the most historic wineries in Beaujolais with a winemaking legacy that stretches back some 300 years. Most of the estate’s vineyards are set on the steep hillsides around the property which are rich in schist and granite, helping to add verve and vivacity to their charming wines. To highlight the pure beauty of the land and their grapes, the winery uses low intervention techniques as much as possible in the winemaking process.

This elegant Morgon is a great introduction to the Corcelles style. It is crafted from 100% Gamay grapes which are carefully selected and harvested by hand at optimum ripeness. The grapes are then sorted and destemmed before undergoing a maceration process to extract the color, flavor, and tannins from the skins. The wine is then fermented using wild yeasts and aged in oak barrels for several months before bottling.

The result is a perfectly balanced cru Beaujolais that is ideal to enjoy now or to cellar for a few more years. A bright streak of acidity, modest tannins, and a solid core of ripe red berries makes this a great match for tomato-based pastas, light salads, or even softer cheeses.
