Located in eastern Slovakia, Château Belá Egon Muller produces wines of the highest quality considered among the most prestigious in the country. The estate which owns vineyards located on the left bank of the Danube, on beautiful limestone slopes facing south, was taken over in 1999 by the family of Egon Müller's wife. Today the operations in the cellar are managed by master cellarman Miroslav Petrec in cooperation with Egon Müller.
This off-dry Rhine-style Riesling is produced with selected grapes from the Muzla terroirs in Slovakia. The wine has received several awards and shows a good aging potential.
The Chateau Bela Egon Muller Riesling has a clear color with pale golden tones. It is a bold wine with an intense and complex aromatic profile with citrus aromas of orange and grapefruit, followed by notes of peach and chamomile, wildflowers, honey and strong mineral hints. On the palate, it is lively with some residual sugar. It has a medium body and an invigorating, perfectly balanced acidity. On the finish, there are mineral and delicately spiced notes. It is the ideal wine for many vegetarian recipes or with white meat, especially if served with a citrus sauce.
