A bottle of sparkling wine from the Taittinger family is a vital part of any Champagne connoisseur’s scrapbook. Over three generations and one century, this esteemed family have cemented their place in the annals of Champagne. These days, the winery is spearheaded by a trio of Taittingers: Pierre-Emmanuel and his two children, Vitalie and Clovis.

The Taittinger estate spans 228 hectares and 37 crus, making it the third largest domain in the region of Champagne. Every Millésimée is one of a kind, as they are only crafted during a year of extraordinary quality. This particular bottle is an equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, plucked from a careful combination of Grand and Premier Crus.

This effervescent wine reveals aromas of fruit and flowers on the nose. Lime and white peach meet a bouquet of honeysuckle and orange blossom, while subtle touches of toast and nut linger in the background. The palate is silky and exact, measuring flavours of lemon and lime zest against a chalky and slightly salty minerality. It is a precise, vivacious wine, with considerable acidity and a satisfying finish.
