Champagne Petit et Bajan Nymphea Rose Grand Cru

The vibrant salmon hue of this unique rosé Champagne immediately catches the eye, while the seductive hints of summer berries, blood orange zest, and strawberries invite you to take your first sip. On the palate the tiny bubbles transform into a silky smooth mousse and the vibrant freshness is carefully balanced by rich red fruit and a backbone of chalky minerality and citrus which make this an excellent wine to serve as an aperitif.

Champagne Petit et Bajan is the joint project of Richard Petit and Véronique Bajan who fortuitously fell in love and simultaneously united their families’ Champagne houses to create a dynamic new project. The couple produce authentic grower Champagnes which are all made with grapes grown on their prime vineyard sites in the Grand Cru villages of Avize, Oger, Verzenay and Cramant.

Their partnership also plays out in their approach to winemaking with Véronique taking the lead in the cellar and Richard caring for their families’ vines. This particular cuvée is dominated by Chardonnay from the from the Côtes de Blancs along with a small proportion of Pinot Noir from Verzenay. While recognised in the region as some of Champagne’s most exciting small producers, the couple are not yet well-known outside of France which means their wines offer phenomenal value for money compared with their more famous neighbours.
