This majestic vintage Champagne is crafted by one of the region’s top producers, Champagne Jacquesson, from a fantastic 1 hectare plot named “Corne Bautray” which was planted with Chardonnay in 1960. This single vineyard is located in the Grand Cru of Dizy in the Valle de la Marne and sits on a steep south-west facing slope with chalk and gravel soils ideal for crafting a top quality Blanc de Blancs.
In the winery the Jacquesson philosophy is centred around the terroir and purity of fruit along with very long lees ageing. This cuvee is aged for nine years in the bottle on the lees before being disgorged without any added dosage. The result is a remarkably polished and poised vintage Champagne which will continue to evolve and develop beautifully in the bottle over the coming years.
Champagne Jacquesson is run by brothers Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet who have brilliantly guided the house to claim its place amongst Champagne’s finest producers. As well as sourcing a small amount of fruit from partner growers, the brothers have their own excellent vineyards in the Grande Vallée de la Marne and in the Côte des Blancs with the winery itself based in Dizy.
