This remarkably dry Champagne is an equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The fruits were harvested from the villages of Verzy, Verzenay, and Villers-Marmery, in an homage to Henriet-Bazin’s founder, and the current winemaker’s maternal grandmother, Louise. It opens with a rich nose of quince, apple, and pear, coupled with warm hints of pastries and honeysuckle.
Champagne Henriet was founded in 1890 by Gaston himself. It became Henriet-Bazin in the 1960s, when his grandson Daniel married Micheline Bazin, a fellow winemaker from the commune of Villers-Marmery. Today, the winery is run by Daniel and Micheline’s children, fourth-generation winemakers Marie-Noëlle and Nicolas.
On the palate, Gaston & Louise is soft and moussey, balanced by striking acidity and a chalky mineral side. As the wine breathes, you can discover flavours of rose petals, strawberry, and orchard fruits, alongside the ever-present hint of brioche. It spent 9 months fermenting in enamel vats, followed by a minimum of 3 years in the bottle, on the lees. There is no added sugar, allowing the character of the land to shine through. Consider pairing this wine with candied nuts, creamy cheese, or seafood.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
