Located in Pouillon, north of Reims, Domaine Cuillier has been producing Champagne for over a century. The vineyards cover approximately 6 hectares, planted primarily with Pinot Noir, as well as Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier in smaller quantities. Today, the fourth-generation family estate is managed by Vincent Cuillier, with great dedication to continuing the family tradition.
Chemin des Rois is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The grapes come from a single plot in the Chenay area planted on sandy soils. Vinification takes place for 10 months in oak barrels, and the wine then ages on the lees for 3 years.
The result is a balanced Champagne that expresses the elegance of both varieties with complex aromas enhanced by the barrel aging. On the nose, it reveals a fine and fragrant aromatic profile, with floral and fruity notes, bread crust, and chalky hints. On the palate, it is dry, powerful, and refreshing with a distinctive minerality. It has lively acidity and a long finish with light bitter notes that reflect the lack of final dosage. It’s perfect with fish and seafood. But for a special treat, try it with lobster!
