Located in Epernay, where it was founded in 1905, the Champagne Charles Ellner is an independent Champagne house. The various family generations have progressively expanded the vineyard, which today has 50 ha and consists mainly of Chardonnay. Today at the helm of the company, there is Jean-Pierre Ellner, grandson of the founder, flanked by his two daughters and two grandchildren, who continue in the family tradition of producing very elegant Champagne with a style that combines freshness and complexity.
The Extra Brut is a delicious blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir with a predominance of the latter. All the company's wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the flavors of fresh fruit and are then left to rest on the lees for a minimum of 4 years to soften and age elegantly.
Champagne Charles Ellner Extra Brut is a wine with a clear yellow color and a fine and delicate perlage. The nose reveals citrus and green apple notes, accompanied by mineral hints. On the palate, it is dry and mineral with excellent acidity and good consistency. The long finish recalls the pastry aromas of brioche. Served well chilled at 8-10°C, it is perfect as an aperitif. It also pairs deliciously with white fish and shellfish.
