Located in the Bierzo wine region, César Márquez founded his winery in 2015, after years of apprenticing with his famous uncle Raúl Pérez, one of the most renowned winemakers in the world. Cesar produces wines in an artisanal way, with full respect for the terroir, without the use of pesticides or chemicals in the vineyard, and with a non-interventionist approach in the cellar.
Parajes is a red wine made with a blend of Mencía, Alicante Bouschet, and other white varieties allowed in the local denomination Bierzo. The harvest is manual and the pressing of the grapes takes place according to tradition, with the feet, so that a part of the grapes remains whole during fermentation, which takes place with indigenous yeasts part in barrels and part in steel. The finished wine rests for 12 months in barrels, before blending and bottling.
The wine reveals a beautiful bright ruby red color and intense aromas of plum and fresh red fruit, spicy hints, and vegetal notes. On the palate, it is elegant and juicy, fruity and well-balanced. It has a medium body, ripe and velvety tannins, and a delicately saline and persistent finish. It goes wonderfully with game birds such as pheasant or partridge.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
