Wagner Wines produce a small amount of Zinfandel despite being better known for their Cabernet Sauvignon and what they do with it is now legendary! It is highly sort after due to its quality and limited production. Zinfandel is a quintessentially Californian wine though it is better known as Primitivo in Europe.
Made from grapes that benefit from the cooling effects of the Pacific and the warm sunshine give the perfect conditions for super ripe grapes with a high sugar content. The wine can be fermented into levels of alcohol in excess of 15%, which is approaching the upper limit of where fermentation occurs naturally. On the eye, the colour is a rich ruby.
On the palate, the flavours are in line with the nose. Dark fruit such as blackberry and blackcurrant are very prominent but a pleasant hint of chocolate and spice blend beautifully. It is a refreshingly fruit forward wine that has high alcohol and medium tannins, providing a lovely balance in the wine.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
