The Casanova Di Neri estate was founded by Giovanni Neri in 1971 and passed to his son Giacomo in 1991. Since the very beginnings the family has focused on producing delicious wines which stay true to their Tuscan winemaking heritage. Their breathtaking Brunello displays the enchanting charisma of the Sangiovese grape as well as brilliantly expressing the unique character of the local terroir.
The Sangiovese grapes selected for this wine are carefully harvested by hand to ensure they arrive at the winery in optimum condition. Following the maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks the wine is transferred to oak barrels for 36 months. After this lengthy maturation period is complete the wine is then bottled and aged for a further 24 months before it is released.
As soon as you pour out a glass of the Cerretalto you’ll notice the stunning ruby red hue and intoxicating aromas of raspberries, dark chocolate, baking spice and graphite. The first sip reveals ripe red fruit flavours and a firm structure which is carefully balanced by freshness and hints of minerality from the rich vineyard soils. Ideal pairings for the Cerretalto include roasted lamb, beef stews or fresh ravioli stuffed with beef and served in a rich tomato sauce.
