Sultry scents of cocoa, blackberry, ripe plum, coffee, and violet petals emerge on the nose of this Argentinian Malbec. The grapes were harvested from the Lujan de Cuyo region, where the vineyard towers up to 3,000 feet above sea level, on the dry side of the Cordon del Plata mountain range.

The winery is a family business, founded by Walter Bressia with his wife and children in 2003. It is a boutique cellar, with an eye for quality rather than quantity. In keeping with that philosophy, the Bressia family employ minimal intervention techniques in the vineyards, and allow the stunning landscape of Mendoza to shine through in every step of the winemaking process.

The Bressia family’s down-to-earth winemaking policy is best represented in their miniature Monteagrelo range, the star of which is this full-bodied Malbec. On the palate, it is bursting with dark fruit and velvety tannins. Look for notes of black plum, baking spice, cappuccino, and earthy hints of leather. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels of French and American oak, before release. Consider pairing it with a juicy steak, barbecued ribs, or an eggplant parmesan
