A wonderful peachy pink in the glass, this sparkling rosé bursts with fresh, fruity aromas. Look for scents of sour black cherry on the nose, with hints of rose petal, citrus, white peach, and a core of minerality. This Argentinian rosé is an exciting blend of Chardonnay, Malbec, and Pinot Noir, harvested from estate-owned vineyards at the foot of the Andean Mountains.
Chandon Argentina was founded in 1959 by Robert-Jean de Vogüé, an offshoot of the original Domaine Chandon in Napa Valley. Today, the winery is spearheaded by Diego Ribbert, a Mendoza native who relishes the extreme climate in his home nation’s winemaking heartland. Some of their vineyards grow up to 1,700 metres above sea level, and they have their sights on some even more challenging locations.
The Chandon Argentina Rosè is crisp and creamy in the mouth, with lively notes of raspberry, lemon zest, cherry, and minerality, coupled with a yeasty, dried fruit finish, akin to fruit loaf. It received a light dosage of 6 grams per litre, giving it a wonderfully balanced, dry mouthfeel. Best served chilled, alongside salmon steaks, seafood pasta, or alone, as an aperitif.
