Azelia has become one of the Piedmont’s leading lights thanks to the passion and commitment of owner Luigi Scavino whose family has been growing grapes and making wine on this land for generations. Today the estate is farmed organically and all work is done manually to ensure that they produce the very best quality grapes possible. In recent years Luigi has sought to limit the amount of oak influence in his wines and primarily works with traditional large oak botti and used barrels to allow the character of the grapes to shine through.
Luigi’s Langhe Nebbiolo is a lively, youthful expression of the Piedmont’s most famous black grape which is made with fruit sourced from Barolo vineyards in the prized sub-regions of Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba. The vines here are 25 years old and grown on a combination of calcareous and clay soils which helps to craft a complex, multi-layered wine with plenty of freshness balanced by intense ripe fruit flavours.
To showcase the pure varietal character of the Nebbiolo the wine is vinified and aged in stainless steel tanks. The result is a graceful medium bodied red which opens with enticing aromas of rose petals, black cherries, and cassis which carry through onto the palate.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
