Although only founded some 35 years ago, the Artadi estate has quickly built a reputation for top Rioja wines which express an authentic sense of the local terroir. The Valdegines is one of their three premium single vineyard wines which all have a unique character honed by the microclimate and soil conditions of each particular site.
Located at 650 metres above sea level, the east-facing Valdegines vineyard in Laguardia help to produce intensely concentrated aromas and flavours while retaining freshness in the wine thanks to the cool nights. All of the grapes are harvested by hand and fermented using indigenous yeasts before the wine is aged in new French oak barrels for 12 months.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
