Arillo in Terrabianca is a winemaking project launched in 2019 by Adriana and Urs Burkard, bringing together three wine estates in three different areas of Tuscany. The Terrabianca estate, in particular, is located in the Chianti wine district and encompasses approximately 12 hectares of vineyards.

The Sangiovese grapes are carefully selected from the Tenuta Terrabianca vineyards, located at an altitude of 410 meters above sea level in Radda in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico DOCG appellation. After harvesting, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel, followed by maceration on the skins for approximately 10 to 14 days. The finished wine then ages for a year in large European oak barrels. The result is an expressive wine that embodies the Chianti winemaking identity.

In the glass, Poggio Croce Chianti Classico Riserva reveals an intense ruby ​​color. Its aromatic profile is distinctive and broad, with notes of red fruits (especially cherry and currant) blending with hints of violet, toasted notes, and vanilla. On the palate, it is rich, full-bodied, and fresh. It has smooth tannins and a refreshing acidity. It is well-structured and balanced, with a pleasant fruit concentration and a long finish that evokes toasted notes and peppery nuances. Try it with a Florentine steak, roast beef, medium-aged pecorino cheeses, and a tasty cheeseburger.
