Founded by Domenico Poggiali in 1966, Felsina is a Tuscan winery located between the high Chianti hills and the Ombrone Valley. The estate covers a total of 600 hectares, just over 70 of which are dedicated to vineyards, certified organic since 2015.

The Sangiovese grapes are sourced from the estate's various plots, situated at different altitudes. Harvest takes place at different times depending on the plot and the ripeness of the grapes. After harvest, fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, and the finished wine then ages for 12-16 months in French oak barriques and medium-sized Slavonian oak barrels before being blended and further aged for 3-6 months in the bottle.

The result is an elegant and intense wine with a deep ruby ​​color. On the nose, it reveals a broad and complex aromatic profile with notes of ripe red fruits and spicy hints on an undertone of underbrush and graphite. On the palate, it is full-bodied and juicy, fruity and smooth. It has good structure, a well-balanced acidity, and soft tannins. The finish is long and warm, evoking delicate spicy notes. Keep it in the cellar for a few years or enjoy it with filet mignon with mushroom sauce.
