Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour.
Widely recognized in Italy and around the world as one of the most important and appreciated Italian families in the wine scene, the Antinoris have been producing wine for over 600 years. Over the centuries, 26 generations have succeeded at the helm of the company which has always remained a family business. The passion and foresight of this family have brought Tuscan wines and Sangiovese in particular to be known all over the world.
The Badia a Passignano Riserva red wine is a Chianti Classico produced from 100% Sangiovese grapes, which finds one of its terroirs of choice in this area of Tuscany. The bunches are carefully selected from the homonymous property located in the Chianti Classico area. The wine is aged for at least 14 months in barrels and 16 months in the bottle.
The result is a great Chianti Classico, intense, complex, and balanced. The nose reveals an aromatic profile of ripe red berry fruit, with notes of chocolate and vanilla. On the palate, it is rich and enveloping, warm, and with an important tannic texture. The finish is long and concentrated with fruity notes and spicy references. Perfect with pasta served with meat sauces and well-aged cheeses.
