The Antinori family have been making wine in Tuscany for over 26 generations since Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the Florentine Winemakers’ Guild in 1385. Today they make stunning wines on several different estates across Tuscany as well as in top wine regions in California, Chile, Hungary, and Malta. Tenuta Guado al Tasso is their property which occupies a prime site in the prestigious Bolgheri DOC on the Tuscan coast.

The proximity of the vineyards to the sea here means they enjoy a mild climate with cooling breezes during the hot summer months and the well-draining alluvial soils ensure the vines have to dig deep to access water sources. The Antinori vines are also planted at the foot of the Bolgheri Amphitheatre, a magnificent plain surrounded by rolling hills, which creates a unique microclimate favouring slow ripening and development of an intense, complex flavour profile in the grapes.
