Located in Washington State, Andrew Will Winery was founded in 1989 and remains a family business, run by founder Chris Camarda and his son, Will. The winery is renowned for the excellent quality of its Bordeaux blend wines, which perfectly express the local terroir. The name Andrew Will was chosen by Chris to honor his son and grandson.
Involuntary Commitment is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon from some of the finest vineyards in the Columbia Valley. After manual harvesting and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, the finished wine ages for 11 months in neutral French oak.
The result is an elegant and approachable wine with an excellent quality/price ratio. On the nose, the wine reveals a broad aromatic profile that blends notes of ripe blackberry with hints of lavender, violet, and spice, against a chocolatey background. On the palate, it is round, silky, and juicy with smooth tannins and a supple texture. It has a full body and mineral tones that intertwine with fruit in a long, lingering finish. It's a wine capable of developing for a few years in the cellar, but it's also ready to be enjoyed now, especially with a mixed grill.
