The Domaine André Brunel is a family estate dating from the 17th century, part of the elite of Châteauneuf du Pape. The Les Cailloux vineyard is spread over three appellations: the flagship appellation is of course Châteauneuf-du-Pape with 21 hectares whose soils are varied, rolled pebbles, sands and clays; Côtes du Rhône with 40 hectares of vines and clayey-sandy alluvial soils; and Vin de Pays de Vaucluse with 30 hectares of vines on river alluvial soils. Les Cailloux vineyards are mainly planted with Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault for the red wines and Roussanne, Grenache blanc, Clairette for the white wines.

The grapes come from multiple plots, each of which brings its own characteristics, giving this wine its incredible complexity. A meticulous analysis of the terroir has made it possible to determine the most suitable grape varieties and the most appropriate methods of managing the vines. The average age of the vines is 60 years.

This Châteauneuf-du-Pape red Les Cailloux takes its name from the countless rolled pebbles present in the vines and which are at the origin of the name of the Estate. On the nose, it develops intense aromas of red fruits and a fine woody hint. On the palate, the fruit comes back together with complex aromas of scrubland, white pepper, and orange peel. The tannins are balanced and elegant. Try it with beef filet, lamb, or duck.
