Founded in 2008 by Curtis McBride together with his friend and winemaker Kent Rasmussen, the 689 Cellars company produces Californian wines of great quality and excellent value for money. The name of the company recalls the Chinese tradition and the many trips to the Far East by the two friends. In Chinese culture, in fact, the numbers 6, 8, and 9 have extremely positive meanings and respectively indicate happiness, wealth, prosperity, and long life.

Six Eight Nine White is a harmonious blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes from selected vineyards located in Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, and Lodi. After fermentation the wine ages for 8 months in a mix of French oak and stainless steel before being released on the market.

The wine reveals a light straw yellow color and a broad and fragrant aromatic profile. The nose shows pleasant aromas of ripe fruit (especially yellow plum, Golden Delicious apple, and melon), followed by light citrus and herbaceous notes. On the palate, it is lively and juicy, with a pleasant mineral vein and a good fruity intensity. It has bright acidity and a medium body. It is refreshing with a long finish that recalls fruity and dried flower notes. It is excellent with lobster, prawns, and scallops, but also pairs well with veal.
