Le Difese is a rich blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. It is sourced from choice vineyards within Tuscany, growing in soils with a strong presence of clay and limestone. It is bursting with sweet spices, balsamic and ripe red fruits, such as sour cherry, plum and ripe strawberry. A bold Italian red, full of rustic Tuscan charm.
Tenuta San Guido is a family winery now entering its third generation - spearheaded by five cousins. It was founded in the 1940s by Nicolo Incisa, who saw the untapped potential of the Bolgheri region and decided to settle down there. Tenuta San Guido’s land lies between the mountains and the sea, and their vineyards are equally influenced by saline winds and mineral-rich soils.
This Tuscan blend is perfectly balanced in the mouth - velvety tannins meet a wash of clean acidity, luring you into a world of dark fruits. Blackberry jam, plum, wild strawberry and juicy cherry mingle on the palate, with undercurrents of spice, minerality and Italian herbs. The wine was aged for 8 months in Sassicai barrels before release, adding an oaken backbone. Enjoy this wine with a plate of Italian cheese and meat, a tomato-rich pasta dish or a tender cut of lamb.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
