Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona is a Tuscan estate of approximately 195 hectares located near the village of Castelnuovo dell'Abate and the famous Romanesque Abbey of Sant'Antimo, southeast of the municipality of Montalcino. Vineyards cover approximately 50 hectares, while 30 hectares are dedicated to olive growing. The estate is surrounded by bucolic scenery that extends across rolling hills with the River Orcia to the south and Mount Amiata in the background.
The estate's olive grove includes centuries-old trees of the indigenous Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo, and Olivastra varieties, grown organically with respect for the environment and biodiversity. Harvesting is done by hand, followed by cold pressing. Yields are relatively low, resulting in an intense oil of exceptional quality with excellent organoleptic properties.
The Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona extra virgin olive oil reveals a bright and intense emerald green color with golden highlights. Its aromatic profile is fragrant and persistent, with fruity notes, followed by herbaceous and artichoke hints on a bitter almond background. On the palate, it initially takes on a delicate and velvety character, later revealing a spicy and piquant note, typical of high-quality Tuscan oils. It is flavorful and smooth, with a recurring note of artichoke and a gently bitter aftertaste. Try it on toasted bread or with grilled meat and hearty legume soups.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
