What are the 4 classifications of French wine?

French wine is categorized into four classifications: Table wine, country wine, AOC (Appellation d’origine contrôlée) or AOP (Appellation d’origine protégée and VDQS (vin délimité de qualité supérieure). AOC/AOP system is frequently realized with the wines from the local regions accruing to strict rules and Vin de Pays is still used for wines from great geographical district. Table Wine category called Vin de Table can be explained as a collection of wines that can be used at the table, and VDQS range is better than Vin Pays (VP) but still not achieving AOC/AOP standards.
