The history of the Zuccardi winery is the story of a family that emigrated to Argentina from southern Italy and established its roots in the Mendoza region. The first vines were planted in the 60s by Alberto Zuccardi and today the company is managed by the third generation of the family who takes care of the over 400 hectares of vineyards owned, with passion and attention to produce wines that are expressive of the Argentine terroir.
Malbec grapes come from the wine region of Paraje Altamira at an altitude of between 1050 and 1150 meters. The vines are planted on soils characterized by conglomerates of stones and gravel, with an upper layer of calcareous soil, and benefit from a cool climate with a good temperature range. Vinification and aging take place in cement.
Malbec Poligonos from the Paraje Altamira region has a deep, dense red color with purple hues. Its aromatic profile shows intense notes of red fruits and hints of herbs. On the palate, it is fresh and medium-bodied, balanced, and with a good acidity. It has soft tannins and a long finish. It’s perfect with grilled meats, but also goes well with a pizza Diavola.
